4 Free Ways To Be a Financially Saavy, Ambitious B*tch

I've been on a money kick lately, listening to money guys on YouTube and all that jazz.

I'm turning into a financially saavy b*tch and I have never felt more alive.

Well, today I received an email from a business (I'm going to make up a name) "XYZ COACHING", and they were marketing a 5 day virtual event on reparenting yourself.

I was like, "Oh that sounds neat, I think that might be a cool thing to try to go to ----"

I was cut short when I looked at the price:

$2200.

TWO. THOUSAND TWO. HUNDRED. DOLLARS. PER PERSON.

I'm UPSET that this is the price for 5 days of your own VIRTUAL heavy lifting.

I feel like their objective in pricing this was to help themselves become rich, not help people.

And although their methods can indeed be helpful... I just feel like the pricing isn't fair access for people who may need it.

I am just.... astounded/appalled.

I paid for a YEAR LONG astrology program that costs less than that.

I've even been to a Tony Robbins multi-day conference that cost less than that. TONY. ROBBINS.

I understand the drive to make money off your business, I really do.

But this price just tells me that someone who needs it now has to choose between that or paying rent this month.

It just feels totally out of touch with the reality we live in now: Sh*t is expensive.

The cheap eggs are $4 yo!! And thats in a mid-sized city.

In this here economy, you should not have to choose between paying for gas and healing yourself.

Which is why I wrote this newsletter.

Because despite the fact that we are ambitious, we may also be broke or living frugal, and that is OK for now (sh*t happens).

But being broke economically does not mean you have to be broke spiritually, mentally, or emotionally.

SOOO

What are FREE ways I have used to grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally?

Well for starters: YouTube.

1.Youtube is the new form of university.

I have done just about everything guided by a video on Youtube, from learning how to patch up a wall to fixing my own washer machine.

Using YouTube, I have found:

  • Thought leaders that vibe with my beliefs.

  • Meditations I can be guided by.

  • Audiobooks I don't have to pay for.

  • Learned about philosophy, world events, history.

  • Resources, tips, tricks from experts on different subjects.

And I'm sure there is so much more.

Same goes for Podcasts. They're just as helpful. And they're both FREE.

2. Things like going for a walk daily are 10000x going to help you improve your mindset over time, rather than doing a 5 day retreat that inspires you for only 5 days.

Developing a free habit like walking daily, getting 8 hours of sleep, journaling, nature bathing, meditation, steering clear of fried or empty carb foods will take you a long way.

Develop FREE habits that change you long term.

3. Read books FOR FREE:

The library is an option.

Free audiobooks on YouTube is an option.

Another option is supporting small book shops or bargain book sellers, if you don't mind paying.

When I first started my self-improvement journey, it was by reading books. So I highly recommend you throw some books into your daily mix.

Now you have no excuses my friend: READ ON!

4. Join some virtual/local groups that share your same struggles.

I know what you're thinking:

"I don't want to go out and meet people."

Well... if you aren't thinking that then good for you! -- But I know I did when I first started. #introvert

But I was so wrong about this.

Meeting other people in these groups who share like minds and struggle with the same sh*t as you, is really healing.

I have joined 3 groups in the past year and it has served as part of my own journey in indescribable ways.

So how does this free self-improvement journey sound?

In reading this list, you may still feel tempted to put money into your own growth, what the self-improvement world calls "Investing into yourself".

So while investing in yourself is important, you can invest in ways that don't drain your bank account, too.

Before you dish out $2.2k and sleep out of your car, consider the following:

"Why do I want to buy this course? What do I believe it'll get me?"

If you feel it is worth it then go for it.

Sometimes, the methods help and the work sticks.

But if you find yourself to be the kind of person where the motivation doesn't last, proceed with caution.

This might be a sign of you not wanting to do the work of improving yourself.

Paying for something that says we will achieve change, is easier than doing the hard work of changing ourselves.

It is a form of spiritual scapegoating - Saying we are doing it feels better than actually doing it.

For example, paying for a meditation class but never actually meditating after the class is over.

Stay aware to those habits.

As for me, I found the discounted book version of this $2.2k course online and got started on my own reparenting journey.

Make sure that you consider all the ways you can invest into yourself before you dish out the entire bank.

I hope it helps you-- Please reach out and email me for any comments or feedback!
