Peace Over Perfection

I am in the process of building a business.... as though you didn't already read that in my last 30 letters 💩.

I even made a cute little logo and chose a name ⬆️! Say hello to Rise Astrology!

I am ALSOOO almost done with my website (🎉)!

The one thing I wanted to share with you that stood out most in this whole process was... Choose peace over perfection any day of the week.

Peace is, like your preference of condiments, a personal matter.

I'll give you some examples:

Naming my business

"Rise Astrology" came along after trying on different names and choosing the one that spoke to me.

The ENTIRE TIME, I was fighting that voice that judges me with a societal lense.

"What if no one else understands it?"

"What if Rise Astrology is dumb?"

"Where the hell did you come up with this?"

At some point I had to just tell myself "I like this one. Thats it. No special rhyme or reason. It just is what I wanted at this time."

I had to choose to be at peace with what I chose.

And then came time to make a logo...

Making my Logo

I FOR SURE could've sat there and constructed 100000 different versions using all kinds of colors, geometric shapes, and fonts.

(OMG choosing the fonts -shudders- 😵‍💫)

Ultimately, I just made one that I liked, wasn't perfect but it had elements I wanted and it felt right for the moment.

(What do you think? Thumbs up I hope?)

Building my website

And then finally, I saved the best for last... My website. 🙃

I saved building a website for last because honestly... I would rather mow the lawn on a Saturday.

I was NOT looking forward to making it.

But once I made being at peace the goal, like everything else, it went smoother than anticipated.

"What felt harmonious" was my primary concern instead of letting my conditioning tell me how imperfect it was.

I actually ended up enjoying some miniscule parts of it.

The moral of the story is, you get to choose feeling at peace with things.

As Trent Sheldon says, "Protect your peace".

Like all things, building your dreams, going after your desires, and building websites, logos and titles, are ALL inside jobs.

What matters most is just being at peace with it.

Feeling excitement is great but feeling at peace with it is enough.

And for those of you wanting to build your own path, I am here to remind you that the only foundation and preparation you need is a conscious, connected, and clear YOU.

And that YOU stems from just being at peace with whatever you happen to produce today.

I know f*ck all about website design.

Might you run into a glitch or two on my website?

DEFINITELY.

But I do know one thing:

My website tells you what I can solve for you.

I also chose pretty pictures that looked nice.

It all represents ME.

And I am at peace with that.

I could make a website about selling cactuses and as long as I feel at peace with it, then I'll take it.

It doesn't matter what you do, the same principle applies: Choose peace over perfection.

Sometimes on your journey to making [good] crap happen, you might run into parts of you that are driven by other people's expectations.

Maybe even driven by perfectionism (ME).

BUT we have to train ourselves into the new skill of accepting peace as enough.

It is MORE than enough.

And if you're NOT in the business of building a business, then making peace with what you're choosing right now might help you too.

You don't have to be excited, but being at peace with it is a start.

From that good start, you can move forward onto better.

But trying to constantly strive for this unobtainable ideal and wasting your energy on that, won't get you anywhere.

It'll succeed in sucking the life out of you.

You can't function in life as an energy-sucked raisin.

Be content with being a grape for this moment, so you can focus your energy on other things. <3

Don't be this
