Becoming Crone: Parte Dos
I had so many of you marvelous humans reach out to me last week with high praise for my newsletter, "Becoming Crone".
Becoming an older woman who is wise and spiritual, and FULL of magic and is a damn matriarch of her own design - Like, hell to the yes.
But then that begs the question... How?
We are all growing older so how do we really get there?
What's next?
So... I'm the ripe old age of 32 and I am not yet a ✨Crone ✨ BUUUTTT I have learned a thing or two that steered me closer to achieving that vision of myself in older age.
It basically comes down to the magical discovery of the WHO behind you.
Like legit, if you Dr. Google "advice from older women to younger women", you'll basically read ALOT of the following:
"Don't pretend to be who you aren't and don't pretend to like what you don't."
"Do whatever the fuck you want and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. Sounds cliche, but I spent a lot of time trying to fit into other people’s boxes and it made me miserable. Live YOUR life, not theirs" (Honestly, this sounds like me 😉)
"Believe in yourself. Know that you are enough. Be kind. Don’t fall for diet culture. You are amazing."
"Ignore societal pressures, because when it comes down to it society won't be there to support you."
"You will discover there are no limits to what is possible for you in life."
"Don't ever dumb yourself down for anyone. Be who you are and be confident in your choices."
“Ultimately it isn't about what others think or how many expectations of 'success' you've ticked off your list, it's about you and your journey."
(An honorable mention was the advice to "Take naps every day", which I know has NOTHING to do with this convo but I thought it was important.)
Anyways, all Crone women eventually get there through discovering one thing:
STOP THINKING IN TERMS OF SOCIETAL IDENTITY.
Focus on the WHO of you.
Are you still caught on your title?
Do you resonate with any of these?:
"What should I do?"
"I am too old for that."
"I can't do that, Im a ___."
"What will they think?"
NO!
It isn't about what you do or any label by which you define yourself.
It is about the WHO behind it always.
Por ejemplo:
Let's say you work as a designer.
If you're aiming for Crone, you gotta think of it in terms of:
You are not a designer- Who you are is someone who sprinkles flare into other people's lives.
And guess what?
To sprinkle flare into other people's lives you do not have to be a designer, and likewise, a designer who hates their job, using the title doesn't cover the fact that they aren't REALLY one.
Titles mean shit!
Labels of self = limitation of self
Take me for example:
My bio says "Nurse Practitioner, Trauma Coach, Astrologer but behind it all, I am here to heal and empower others.
THAT is WHO I am.
It isn't the concrete every day titles that Crones are concerned with.
Wise women could give AF about claiming an identity.
They have moved beyond the point of being bothered by that shit.
Crones know that your life is a constant zeroing in on the WHO behind the what.
The only difference between a Maiden, a Mother and a Crone, is that the Crone accepts all that they are and allows themselves to be nothing less.
Ultimately, after trial and error, you realize what Crones already know:
The who behind the what is a lot bigger than you ever let it be.
You are nothing more than a multi-dimensional being with the privilege to live out this experience called life.
Let go of the linear title.
Let go of the scripted scope.
In medicine, there is this thing called a "scope of practice".
It basically means people only do things they are trained to do.
But your life doesn't have a scope of practice.
You can choose to learn new things, follow your intuition, break molds, create any life experience you want.
You are not a career. You do not need competency to dive into who you are.
There is no qualification for this.
The only prerequisite is curiosity, which is FREE.
Your vision about yourself and your life, needs to be bigger.
Big in terms of no limits to who you are.
Ultimately, the world recognizes titles.
"Lawyer"
"Doctor"
"Manager"
Which translates to them logically what it is you do.
It tells them how much work you've put into a path, money, etc.
But it doesn't tell them anything about WHO you are.
That is something Crones allow to speak for themselves, through their aura, communication, self-expression, confidence, and generosity.
Have you ever met an older woman who is so freaking amazing that you could give a crap what she did for work?
Yeah?
THAT is the Crone journey.❤️
Signing off for now, friends!
